Fort DeSoto Park weddings promise the natural beauty of a spectacular Florida park, with the romance and unforgettable experience of a Suncoast Weddings ceremony. There is a peace and tranquility to be found in the park, with stunning views at every turn. Historic and protected, the park was never the site of a major battle and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is located in the southwest corner of Mullet Key at the entrance to Tampa Bay. The park is a popular destination for fishermen and tourists who soak up the views whilst cycling, boating, kayaking, skating, or strolling.
We can help arrange your wedding at the beautiful park, the largest within the Pinellas County Park System. Fort De Soto Park is made up of five interconnected islands (keys). These keys are home to dolphins, manatees, ospreys, stunning flora, and the historic site itself. A special event at a Pinellas County Park requires submission of a Special Event Permit Application. Applications must be submitted a minimum of 90 days prior to the event, but no earlier than one (1) year in advance. Event applications will be reviewed and if approved, the event organizer will be notified of any requirements and applicable fees necessary for the event to take place.
It is also possible to opt for a backdrop of mangroves at this location instead of a beach wedding arch.
Be sure to capture the iconic Sunshine Skyway Bridge as a backdrop in your portraits.
